“Stray Dolls” is a 2019 American crime film that delves into the seedier side of working-class desperation. The film is directed by Sonejuhi Sinha and co-written by Sinha and Charlotte Rabate. This sets off a series of violent events where the girls are forced to take matters into their own hands. The film portrays a raw, bruising portrait of life at the bottom of the heap, where exploitation is taken for granted and everyone’s primary focus is survival. The film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 27, 2019. On September 23, 2019, Samuel Goldwyn Films acquired distribution rights to the film. It was scheduled to be released on April 10, 2020. The film has received generally favorable reviews from critics.
